Marvell to acquire optical communications technology company Lumentum for approximately 18 trillion yen to respond to the speeding up of AI data centers

Semiconductor giant Marvell Technology announced that it has agreed to acquire Lumentum Holdings, which handles optical communications-related products. The acquisition amount is approximately 115 billion dollars. In order to respond to the rapidly increasing data communication demand in AI data centers, it aims to integrate its own semiconductor technology with Lumentum's optical communications technology and provide next-generation AI connection technology.
